It diligently represents its members to improve the enabling environment for the seed sector in Kenya, promote the competitiveness, growth, and professionalism of the sector, and avail high quality seed of the best varieties to all Kenyan farmers.

This website was developed through partnership with Agri Experience and Kenya Markets Trust. The platform includes databases on agro dealers, seed varieties released by Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Services (KEPHIS) and seed industry stakeholders’ contacts as described below. We welcome your comments, additions, and suggestions for improving the accuracy of our databases.

Seed Industry Directory

Sector collaboration and innovation frequently depend on knowing who to tap for expertise. The Seed Industry Directory (SID) is a curated listing of sector participants in Kenya ranging from technical service providers to equipment purveyors. SID is searchable using key words.

Kenya has a long history of breeding improved crop varieties. Working with KALRO, KEPHIS and private sector participants we have built a searchable database for these varieties. In SeedWorks, you can use filters to search for specific varieties, licensees, levels of commercialization, altitude of adaptation, and more. Please help us make corrections and improvements, because Seed Works.

The majority of seed of improved varieties available for sale each season is marketed by agrodealers. Working with KEPHIS and Agmark, we have developed a database of agrodealers in Kenya that is searchable by town, county, name, and distance from a key point.
